Biography

This is where the artist normally would tell you about their art degrees and where they obtained them. I floundered around the working world until becoming an artist at age 45. I haven’t pursued an art degree; it isn’t likely that I ever will. And although I can appreciate the value of a university degree, I don’t regret the course that has brought me to this place.

In the summer when I was 15, my first job was to drag chickens from their cages and load them into crates for shipping to the soup factory. On the way to becoming an artist, I was a switchboard operator, typist, courier, medical secretary, dicta-typist and 911 dispatcher. I have delivered pizzas and fixed typewriters. I even sang in a band.

I think that we each have one thing we were meant to do, and that I have been lucky enough to find that thing. I would wish the same for everyone.
